Artwork

I've decided to separate out my photographic artwork from my photo-manipulation or traditional style art. I feel that photographs show something that is real, something that should be shown off for its natural beauty. In contrast, artwork shows the beauty that could be or the beauty that is possible but not actual. And while I love both mediums, I feel the separation will also help when under comparison. Also, I have a lot more photographs than artwork, so they sort of need their own separate page.

I've included descriptions as well as the name of the artwork. Hopefully this will explain how I managed to make certain parts or give a nice overview on how things are done. As always, click on the quick links provided to get to a part of the list faster and click on the image to see a larger view.

Large Moon in the Clouds
[February 2012]

Made with a photograph I took and a stock moon image. I blended the two together and added color contrast and lighting was adjusted.
Another World
[February 2012]

Made with a photograph I took, a stock planet image, and a stock cloud image. Again, I blended the pieces together and darkened the piece to add the final feel. Lighting was slightly adjusted
Flight Through Space
[March 2012]

Made with two photographs I took, a stock planet image, and a stock cloud image. The airplane was enlarged and the tail streaks are added vectors. The clouds were blended in to hide the planet a bit better and lighting was adjusted.
Take Your Dreams and Fly
[August 2012]

Made from two photographs I took personally, some stock cloud images, and a stock parasol image. The parasol and the person are made with vector artwork while the background is regular photographs.
There's A Universe to See
[August 2012]

This one was actually very complicated, but done using only simple techniques. Many photographs were combined with a personal image I took, then blended together to make it look realistic.

Quotes:
The following are a bunch of images that I have photoshopped and then added in my own unique set of quotes to. They may be poking fun at other famous sayings or they may just be lines of thought I came up with on a random basis. Some of them might even be a little bit offensive to a certain type of person, which is what I originally designed them to be (though not because I hate those people, just the craziness that they stand for). All of them can be found on my Tumblr blog Perplexing Polarities.
