I like to think of myself as a different kind of artist, one that is always striving to make the best with what he has and try new things when possible. It is in taking every picture, in writing every little story, and in living my life that I try to live out this philosophy. I figure I only have one life, so I want every moment I live to be special and every memory I make to be incredible!
In my photography, I push to to capture moments where colors are at their best, the lighting is near perfect, and the landscape can bring out the photographs. I tend to prefer taking pictures of all sorts of clouds in the sky, ones that make the landscape blend with the sky. And with the land, I focus on the main attractions, searching for the way to get the reflections to work on the waterfront or getting the mountains the shade-out like a painter's masterpiece. Yet I think my best pictures are when my friends and family want to be a part of my life, want to help me by being a part of everything I take. I love using shadows to play out what my friends are doing while still masking their identity if they don't want to be seen. But in the end, it is the photographs of faces that make the most impact in the years to come.
With my stories, I struggle to make the characters feel as real as possible. I want their fears, hopes, dreams, and life to bleed-out through the pages as they tell a unique story of something that has happened to their lives. I try to capture moments where my readers can relate to the characters, understanding what they are going through as they are not just reading about them, but living with them. And even with all of these goals for just my characters alone, I also work towards having a plot that makes the situations memorable and the story unforgettable.

The name Canvas Spots comes from the combination of two important parts of my personality and life.
Of the two, canvas is actually more easy to see since I love artwork and try everyday to achieve the greatest, most colorful scenes in both my photography and my writing. Canvas is a symbol of artwork, it is the blank slate that comes before the masterpiece and the cloth upon which everything must go. It is where the imagination begins and the creativity of the mind meets the power of the brush. That's why I chose canvas to be part of the name.
Spots is a little bit harder to understand, some maybe thinking of spots like when paint is splashed upon the canvas and taking it from that original state of purity to artwork. That is not where the word is derived. Instead, spots comes from my favorite animal, the panther! What a lot of people do not know about panthers is that they have darker spotted fur covering their already rich, black bodies. I took the name spots from there, because it is a little known fact the way that I am a little-known author and artist.
